If it’s healthy, creative and different ways to use a blender that you’re looking for, then you’ve come to the right place! From familiar favourites like smoothies, salsa and soup, to fro-yo, blender muffins and body scrub, I’ve got some really fun ideas for you in my top 12 Awesome Ways To Use a Blender list, with a BONUS idea that you won’t want to miss!
Hey there! Welcome to the lovely land of creative blender ideas, where we love our blenders and try to use them to their full potential, like in the following 12 Awesome Ways To Use A Blender, and one bonus idea!
Until recently, I was a handheld blender girl. My handheld blender was pretty reliable, effective, and importantly, really affordable. But let’s face it, there are many things that a handheld just cannot do (or not without a LOT of elbow grease).
Which brought me to the decision that I needed a big girl blender…
A real life “Grown Up Blender” with a large glass jug and lots of buttons. And yet, I still needed it to be affordable. So I did copious hours of research on “the best affordable blenders” and their functions, spent hours scouring the internet for different types of blenders, and came to the conclusion that the Oster 12 Speed Blender was the blender for me.
Before I launch into the many reasons why I have been loving my Oster Blender, and all the simply awesome ways to use it, let’s take a look at it!
My current, and much loved Oster Blender!
I have had this Oster 12 Speed Blender for about a year now, and it has handled all my creative ways to use a blender with ease– smoothies, fresh juices, silky soups, pesto, salsa, blender muffins, protein balls, health bars etc, and it comes at an affordable price!
You can get the Oster on Amazon, it has a 4 star rating from 416 reviews, and you can purchase a 3 or 4 year protection plan for a minimal sum. (I have it in Brushed Nickel and it looks great on my countertop!).
If you’re looking for a reliable, surprisingly high powered, affordable blender with 12 different blend options, 2 speeds and a stainless steel blade to cover all your basic blending, pulverising, crushing and chopping needs, I highly recommend the Oster 12 Speed Blender, I’m convinced you’ll think it’s THE BEST and love it just as much as I do!
Here are my top 12 Awesome Ways To Use A Blender, any blender (with recipes):
CHEEKY (OR NOT SO CHEEKY) SALSA
THE DEETS: I used not to be very into salsa…until I made my own Homemade Tasty Tomato Salsa and now I’m reformed – this is truly the tastiest and healthiest, brightest red salsa you will ever eat! With NO CHOPPING involved. You can tweak this salsa to your taste, hot, medium or mild, and it’s easy to make it chunky or almost smooth depending on your preference. Have this with crackers, corn chips, or use it in your cooking – it’s delicious in soups or in a pasta dish like lasagne or cannelloni!
RECIPE: Favourite Homemade Tasty Tomato Salsa (pictured), use it in soups like this Wonderful Homemade Vegetable Soup.
FRESH PERKY PESTO
THE DEETS: Pesto is one of those condiments that is SO handy to have in the fridge to take that sandwich, pita bread or wrap to the next level of deliciousness…Fresh bread, tomato, cheese and fresh pesto – simply divine, and so easy to make from scratch!

FRESH APPLE SAUCE
THE DEETS: A new-found discovery of mine – Fresh Apple Sauce made with just TWO INGREDIENTS!! I will never again even consider (although I’m not sure I actually ever have in the past) buying store bought apple sauce. THIS Apple Sauce is incredibly simple to make, it takes no time at all, and is 100% fresh and healthy. Watch out Sunday roast!
RECIPE: Peel, core and chop 5 – 6 apples into small cubes. Place in a small saucepan with 1 1/4 cups water and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the water has reduced completely and the apples are very tender. Place in your blender and blitz to desired consistency. If you like, you can add some gound cloves or cinnamon, or both! If you have any left-over sauce, have it with breakfast the next day…Soo good!
PAPAYA FRO-YO!
THE DEETS: Are you a fro-yo kinda guy or gal? If so, then we need to be friends, coz I’m totally a fro-yo gal, always was, always will be. And this Papaya Frozen Yoghurt is the REAL DEAL, just 3 ingredients, you’re gonna heart it big time!
RECIPE: Blitz 2 cups Greek yoghurt with 1 large papaya and a drizzle of honey to taste until smooth. Pour into an airtight container and place in the freezer for about 5 hours, or until frozen. Serve alone, in a cone, or with a delicious, indulgent dessert like these Rosemary Infused Fudgy Chocolate Brownies or this Rustic Bumble Berry Crumble Crisp!
NUTRITIOUS BUMBLE BERRY “NICE-CREAM”
THE DEETS: If you’re a fro-yo person then I think it’s safe to assume you’re also a “nice-cream” person, yes? YUP! Me also. Sugar free, dairy free and totally delicious – you won’t miss ice-cream at all! You can make nice-cream with any combo of frozen bananas and fresh or frozen fruit that you love. Or go crazy and make a banana, avocado, chocolate nice-cream by adding 1/2 an avocado and 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder to the bananas – it’s simple, creamy and awesome.
RECIPE: Freeze 2 bananas overnight. Allow bananas to defrost for about 5 minutes. Place in your blender with about 6 strawberries and 1 cup blueberries, blitz until smooth and creamy, serve immediately and BEHOLD – The Amazingness of Bumble Berry Nice Cream!!!

Plus you can make these muffins gluten free, sugar free and add as much fresh fruit, coconut, dates or cocoa powder as you like and it all gets whizzed to smooth batter perfection in literal SECONDS. Can’t beat it.

RECIPE: Just place a good amount of rolled oats into your blender and pulse away until you have a flour-looking consistency – then bake away! For nut milks, simply soak the nuts in water overnight or for at least 2 hours, drain off the water, and blitz the nuts with fresh water to make delicious and healthy nut milk.
