Cacao Coconut Date Bliss Balls
Posted on July 17 2019
These Cacao Coconut Date Bliss Balls are melt in your mouth smooth, creamy, nutty, sweet and chocolatey! They taste like dessert and yet they are a completely healthy and easy to make snack!
Made with just 7 simple ingredients, these little drops of MIRACULOUS YUMMINESS are super simple to throw together in a matter of minutes, and they make a big batch of 20 large bliss balls, or 40 mini bliss balls.
Also known as “energy balls” – Cacao Coconut Date Bliss Balls have a great balance of all 3 macronutrients (complex carbs, protein and healthy fat) that will boost your metabolism and keep you going until your next meal!
You will also love my Cashew Pear Energy Protein Balls, my Gluten Free Lemon Bars With Crunchy Crust, my Super Seedy Almond Cranberry Granola Bars, my Mango Date Brown Flour Muesli Rusks and my Apricot & Cranberry No Bake Bars.
Personally, I like mine with a little crunch, so I make sure that the cashews don’t get too blended because I love that balance of smooth and crunchy.
AND I LOOOOVE coconut, so I roll my bliss balls in desiccated coconut (unsweetened), before they get inhaled by whoever is around – and believe me, they will!!
Or, if you’re clever, you’ll make them when you’re all alone, then you can keep them in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer and enjoy one for your mid morning or mid afternoon snack.
And no-one will have to know they’re there! I won’t tell if you don’t! It’ll be our little secret.
Just kidding, sharing is caring and all that. Esp when it comes to food…
I look forward to snack time on a daily basis, and it’s SO NICE to know I have a stash of Cacao Coconut Date Bliss Balls to grab at a moments notice.
I first started making this recipe in bar form…And those were good, really good. But this new and improved recipe is on another level altogether!!
Rolling the mixture into balls really gives you that soft and creamy centre that is missing with a bar.
And who doesn’t love a soft and creamy centre?!
What’s exciting about this Cacao Coconut Date Bliss Balls recipe is that you can tweak it in all sorts of ways to suit you:
- Too sweet? Add a little more cacao powder
- Don’t like chocolate? Leave out the cacao
- Love almonds or macadamias? Use them instead of cashew nuts!
- Love that sweet and salty combo? Add a dash more Himalayan pink salt
- Want them smoother? Blend a little longer
- Feel like a sour/tart bliss ball this week? Use 1/2 dried apricots and 1/2 dates!! (This sounds incredible to me!!! Defos trying this, and you better let me know if you do!
As you can see, the options are endless, super delectable and enticing 🙂
Please, please don’t miss out on this amazingly healthy, nutritious and delicious Cacao Coconut Date Bliss Balls recipe!
Make them soon. So soon. And then report back, I want to hear ALL about it!!

Hi Sal,
Thanks for your reply , I will try them for sure!
Hi Sal, I like to do this recipe but we do not like peanut butter . Is there is something else to replace it? Thanks for all your recipes!
Rita
Hi Rita, you can replace the peanut butter with any nut butter that you like – almond, macadamia or cashew butter would be perfect! I hope you enjoy them x
