Top 5 Bucket List Destinations
My Top 5 Bucket List Destinations are places I’d absolutely love to visit sometime in my life. I have many more places I want to see, but I thought picking a Top 5 would make for a fun and interesting post!
Just 5 Bucket List Destinations is a small number really, so I wanted to choose very diverse places with absolutely breathtaking scenery.
Seeing as we live by the sea, most of these destinations are not seaside locations, except for the first…
Here we go with my Top 5 Bucket List Destinations in no particular order:
- BALI
Bali wasn’t really on my radar until I met my husband 5 years ago. He had already been to Bali before we met, and absolutely loved it, and has been talking about going back ever since.
It’s what inspired me to write this post today because finally, after planning this trip for just after our wedding, 2 years ago, and having to postpone and postpone, we are going to Bali!!!
This Friday, we’ll be heading to the airport for our evening flight to Doha, and then on to Bali, Indonesia. That’s 3 sleeps people…
Pinch me, it doesn’t feel real.
We’ve booked our first 10 nights in a hotel right on the cliffs in Uluwatu, and we will book the rest of our stay once we’re there.
We might head to the mountains for a bit, we’re excited to see as much of the Island as we can, while still getting in plenty of rest and relaxation.
Personally, I’m super excited to sample all the Balinese food, and I know there is a huge leaning towards healthy living with all the ex-pats who have moved there, so I’m sure I’ll be trying all kinds of delicious meals.
Anyhoo, I will have plenty of Bali posts coming your way as soon as we get home!
But for the next few days, Bali still sits on my bucket list!
- AUSTRIA
I told you this list would be diverse, ha ha.
I am so blown away by the beauty of Austria in photos and videos. It looks as though you could travel the whole country and be enchanted with every turn.
From the uniquely beautiful and colourful architecture to the mountainous backdrops, the crystal clear lakes and eye-catching forestry…not to mention the delicious looking food!
Austria looks like my kind of travel destination. And just to experience such different scenery to what we’re used to in Africa, I think it would be amazing.
- NAMIB DESERT
Back to Africa – because I have not seen nearly enough of my own continent!
I was given a book on Safari Lodge Design by my cousin many years ago, and an image of the Namib Desert with it’s rich orange sands, rolling dunes and dead trees struck me as incredibly beautiful, and has stayed with me ever since as somewhere I would love to see with my own two eyes one day.
- ALASKAN CRUISE
I’m not exactly sure why this appeals to me so much, but it appeals to my husband, Michael, too, so who knows?
Maybe one day we’ll find ourselves on a freezing cold cruise in Alaska, looking for whales and seals, kayaking and taking in the Northern Lights.
Take a look at the video on this website – you’ll get excited about it too!
- VICTORIA FALLS
Victoria Falls are on my bucket list even though they are in my home country and I have been there before. I was so young the first time we went that I don’t remember it much, and the last time I was there I was 16, so even that is a bit of a blur.
I’d absolutely love to go back now, and take in this natural wonder of the world with fresh eyes, I’m sure I would appreciate the beauty and magnificence of these incredible falls so much more.
Plus if we did this trip, we would most likely also go to Kariba and Mana Pools National Park, which would make it one amazing holiday!
I’m SO tempted to add a few more destinations to this list!
But this post is My Top 5 Bucket List Destinations so I’ll leave it at that for now.
I can’t wait to share all our Bali adventures with you when we get back. I have decided to leave my laptop at home, and focus fully on being present while on holiday.

It’s a break we really need, and I’m hoping it’s going to be restful and refreshing, as well as fun and mind-opening.
Thanks so much for reading my Top 5 Bucket List Destinations, I really appreciate you being here with me!!
Until next time, check out all of our travels, my healthy recipes and my home decor posts.
So glad that you are getting to cross off one of the 5 bucket list wishes. Enjoy.
