You might be wondering why you would want to put flax seeds in your morning smoothie…A reasonable question being that they are very “seedy” in texture and flavour and this doesn’t normally go hand in hand with a creamy-dreamy smoothie picture.

BUT because they get ground up along with the chia seeds and all the delicious tropical fruit, you really don’t even know they’re there!!  Your smoothie is almost as creamy and smooth as normal, PLUS you get all the added health benefits that flax seeds and chia seeds bring to the table.

In conclusion…Flax seeds and chia seeds ARE good in smoothies!

Let’s talk flavour for a moment here.  It doesn’t get much more tropical than a banana, pineapple, papaya smoothie.  My pineapple was SWEEET and incredibly delicious, so my smoothie ended up super fruity-sweet, I might even have preferred a slight sour note as I love the sweet and sour combo, just sayin’.

Regardless though, there is no way for this smoothie to be anything but mouth-wateringly scrumptious!  The seeds bring a slight savoury note and the almond milk adds a little nuttiness.

Why add Super Food flax seeds to smoothies?  Coz:
  • Just 1 tbsp provides a good amount of plant protein, fibre, omega 3 fatty acids, amino acids, antioxidants, and they’re very low in carbohydrates
  • They are rich in vitamins and minerals
  • Ground flax seeds are easier to digest so adding them to your morning smoothie is ideal
Why add chia seeds to smoothies?  Coz:
  • They are among the healthiest foods on the planet
  • These little gems contain a MASSIVE amount of nutrients and very little calories
  • FULL of fibre, calcium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, Vitamin B, potassium AND antioxidants
