Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve is a spectacularly scenic location ideal for hiking and picnicking. Other activities include paintball wars, birding, zip lining, abseiling, white water rafting, quad biking and testing your adrenalin limits on the Wild Swing!
Oribi Gorge lies 21km inland from Port Shepstone and is about a 2 hour drive from Durban.
Over December we spent two weeks with family on the South Coast of Durban, and on a gorgeous, hot, blue-sky day after Christmas Mike and I decided to venture off on our own to Oribi Gorge.
We had breakfast when we first arrived at the cute Farmhouse Cafe and then carried on to Wild 5 Adventures. We weren’t there for the adrenaline fix so we didn’t take part in any of the activities…
…Other than crossing the suspension bridge which is an experience all of its own when the wind is blowing! Insert Wide Eyed Emoji – in all honesty, I LOVED it.
But we did watch a few brave souls leap off the side of the gorge on the Wild Swing, and zip line across it from the stunning waterfall -> I thought this might be more my speed.
If you are at Oribi Gorge for a full action packed day of adventure, then this is what you’ve got to look forward to…
This beautiful nature reserve has so much to offer for a day trip, or two!
7 Activities At Oribi Gorge:

I’m heading off to Zimbabwe next week where I’ll spend 4 nights at Spurwing Island, Kariba. I can hardly wait, it’s going to be so nostalgic. Spurwing has to be one of my most favourite places and I’m excited to be with family as we celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday.
The following weekend, Mike joins me in Zim and I’m excited to finally get to show him where I grew up! Plus we plan to visit a game park 90 minutes outside of Harare with my family.
I’ll be sure to share all the details on the blog when we get home!
