watermelon pawpaw bowls with chia seeds
Chia Seeds = Delicious Breakfast Super Food
I had heard of Chia seeds but had never tried them until about a month ago…now I’m hooked. They’re delicious and full of goodness and they are seriously fast to prepare.
I like to whip up these little Watermelon Pawpaw Bowls the night before – they take about 5 minutes to put together – then I pop them in the fridge and the seeds are perfectly plump and “pop in the mouth” by the morning.
All you have to do is top them with some fresh fruit and gobble them up. It’s a real time saver in the mornings and they pack a punch in the energy department. They’re great to take to work for a lunch time snack as well, so long as you have a fridge there to pop them in until lunch time.
Chia seeds have been said to be excellent for your skin seeing as they are packed with Vitamin E and zinc. Some say they even reduce signs of ageing, I’m all for trying them then! They also have high levels of dietary fibre.
Considering how many benefits the little chia seed has, and how quick & easy they are to prepare – I’d say they’re worth a try!
You can use almost any fruit you have on hand to make variations of these breakfast bowls, I’ve tried so many combinations using my hand held blender and they’re all delicious.
On a slightly less healthy note, it IS just one week and five days until Christmas! Can you believe it?
